One of my professors (who has tenure and is extremely educated and has lived in the US for over a decade) took a phone call during class from his lawyer to go over his visa and everything. He’s genuinely worried that he’s going to be deported back to India, his wife will be sent back to England, and who the fuck knows what will happen to their child since he was born here. People need to stop laughing at this shit–imagine the terror immigrants who don’t have access to money or legal assistance or ‘model minority’ status must feel. Stop laughing and don’t let this disgusting, cruel, entirely uninformed or capable of making sound decisions piece of shit get any more power than when he already has
